This really was the greatest show!

After months of giving up weekends, staying late after school to rehearse, learning lines and dance routines, making the set, props & costumes, the moment had finally arrived for our Aureus superstars to showcase their talents to an eagerly awaiting audience. Both performances; on the Thursday and Friday evening were a sell out, much to the delight of Miss King, who has worked incredibly hard to bring the Greatest Show (on Great Western Park) to life!

PT Barnam and Charity Barnum played by Jojo and Maddie respectively, shone as the leads, without overshadowing the other talented actors, singers and dancers. Solo performances by the vocally gifted Skyla and Sophie in year 9 were a highlight for many. One audience member was heard to say that they could have listened to Skyla sing all night! The supporting cast really helped make the show, whether it be as a protester, a pedestrian or a choir member. In particular: Harry, Anna and Brendan from year 9, all stood out in their supporting roles and the unbelievable Makaton signing skills of Tatum (year 8) and Lauren (year 10) were incredibly inspiring.

The show has been a huge success and Miss King was incredibly proud of all her students: "We were all very excited to show the audience how committed, resilient, and professional our creative arts students are here at Aureus school. Students have been working since September in rehearsals and have been pleasure to work with."

The dedication and hard work of the students and staff members really paid off. The show has been a real celebration of the collabrative talent that we have here at  Aureus and it's safe to say that there is already a buzz of excitement around the next performance.
