Aureus staff will be mindful at all times of portraying a political stance or rhetoric with the pupils. Whilst promoting tolerance, demonstrating acceptance and celebrating difference within and beyond our school community, we will challenge extremism and radical thinking.
It is important to remember that radicalisation does not just concern extreme religious views as can often be misrepresented and perpetuated by the media. Radical views can also include extreme right wing thinking and behaviours or animal liberation activism.
At Aureus we will explore our identity, our community and how we relate and belong. Our exploration will include open discussions about religion, politics and our belief systems. We will explore our values and promote diversity and equality, including sexuality and race, challenging prejudices and unpacking biases.
We are committed to ensuring that your child is kept safe. Safety to us means physical, emotional and mental safety. Through creating an open culture, founded on trust and honesty, we will ensure that Aureus is a safe space for your child to grow, to learn and to flourish.
If you have any concerns about any of our staff's conduct then please contact the Designate Safeguarding Lead and Headteacher: Hannah Wilson. All concerns will be handled discretely and investigated in line with our school policies.
