Welcome to Aureus School

I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Aureus School. I have a passion for comprehensive education and I firmly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. My approach is driven by my belief in inclusive education and centred around high expectations of all students.

As the only co-educational comprehensive school in Didcot we have a fantastic student body whose range of attributes contribute to making Aureus School a vibrant community. I have the privilege to be working with a talented, dedicated and enthusiastic staff body who are passionate about inspiring our young people every single day, enabling them to thrive.

Huge thank you to Sophie, an Aureus alumni now training at MEPA College, for coming back today to talk to our dancers about life at college and to teach some gorgeous rep in Contemporary Club. It’s always inspiring for our students to learn from someone who once stood exactly where they are now.

On the last Friday of last term, 10 Yr 10 Sport Studies students led an exciting rounders tournament at Aureus School, involving 7 teams and 75 Year 5 students. As part of their leadership assessment, the Yr 10 students organised and supported the event throughout the day, demonstrating outstanding teamwork, communication, and leadership skills from start to finish. It was a fantastic day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and great sporting spirit. A huge well done to everyone involved, and congratulations to Stephen Freeman’s Team 1 for winning the tournament!

We have always made a significant promise to support our local community. We vowed that no family in Didcot would be left without a school place. To honour this commitment, we have opened an additional class for our rising Year 7 students, ensuring we continue to serve our community effectively. Please note that only a limited number of spaces are still available for our 2026 rising Year 7 cohort. If you would like more information, please reach out to our admissions team: admissions@aureusschool.org
