Headteacher's Welcome
I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Aureus School. I have a passion for comprehensive education and I firmly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. My approach is driven by my belief in inclusive education and centred around high expectations of all students.
At Aureus School, we have been on a transformative journey and I am proud to share that this has resulted in a school where our students have a strong sense of belonging. We have an unwavering commitment to providing the best possible education for every student. We understand the importance of continuous growth and development, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where our students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As the only co-educational comprehensive school in Didcot we have a fantastic student body whose range of attributes contribute to making Aureus School a vibrant community. I have the privilege to be working with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff body who are passionate about inspiring our young people every single day, enabling them to thrive. As a community we believe in creating a learning environment that is both engaging and exciting, with an education that challenges our students to think critically and push boundaries. There is no limit to what our students can achieve and we provide the necessary support and resources so that everyone can succeed.
Our commitment to high expectations extends to behaviour as well. We believe that a stable and calm environment is essential for effective learning. Our personal development curriculum encourages kindness, acceptance, and an understanding of others’ views and opinions, fostering a sense of belonging and respect among our students. Our core values; Ambition, Resilience and Respect are threaded through everything that we do and we are proud of our students for showing these values everyday.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum where students can thrive. We have an extensive selection of trips and visits, including Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, theatre productions, sporting events and trips abroad. Our school is always filled with the energy of sporting activities, STEM challenges and competitions, as well as music and drama performances and other artistic pursuits. The fantastic artwork our students produce can also be seen through handmade costumes, the amazing makeup in productions and also by simply walking around the school. At Aureus our extra-curricular opportunities combine to create a caring and highly successful school, where opportunities and experiences are highly valued.
As a parent I know that every family wants the very best for their young people; at Aureus we do too.
