Recognition
At Aureus School we aim to reward students who go above and beyond. This means that simply doing what is asked to an acceptable standard will not result in a reward. Our expectations are simple, all students should be Ready, Respectful and Safe.
Students have many levels of reward from a well done verbal acknowledgment to working through the rewards ladder.
Rewards are available during lessons, coaching time, break and lunchtimes. They are rewarded for attitude to learning, showing the Aureus values, completing an outstanding piece of home learning and many more.
Our Core Values:
All adults at Aureus School have access to awarding positive points, well done and values postcards and the Aureus sticker which they will give to students who they notice are going above and beyond.
Positive points mean star badges (see picture). We have a scale of points badges from Bronze to Platinum:
Bronze = 100 positive points
Silver = 200 positive points
Gold = 300 positive points
Platinum = 500 positive points
Points badges are awarded by coaches during coaching time and advertised on our weekly student message board. They are also celebrated in the end of term assemblies along with awards for Attitude to Learning, Academic Achievement, Attendance and Service to the school.
Miss Saul regularly nominates Aureus students for external awards such as the Berkshire Masonic School Charity Award and the Didcot Rotary Student of the Term Award.
