Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a fantastic opportunity for students and gives them the chance to do something completely new and improve on things they are already doing. It takes them out of their comfort zone and into a place where they will push themselves and have amazing new experiences. They will build confidence, resilience, skills for work and new friendship groups. Colleges, universities and employers regard The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award highly.
All participants will need to complete 4 sections. In school they will be trained and complete their expedition section. In their own time they will need to complete the other three sections: volunteering, skill and physical.
Volunteering Section
For the volunteering activity the students need to choose to give time to help people, the community or society, the environment or animals without getting paid.

Skill Section
For the skills activity students need to choose an activity that will allow them to prove that they have broadened their understanding and increased their expertise in the chosen skill.

Physical Section
For the physical activity the students need to choose any sport, dance or fitness activity – in short, anything that requires a sustained level of energy and physical activity.

The New eDofE app
You can download the new DofE app (https://www.dofe.org/app/) to manage your eDofE, it is free from the App Store and Google Play. The DofE App allows participants to easily upload evidence (photos and assessors reports) to their eDofE account which makes it easier for pupils to complete each section.
