Sport Studies
Year 10
In Year 10, students will look closely at what makes a good sports leader and then apply this knowledge in their coursework to real life sports leaders. They will also create a sports session and practice delivering this session to their peers. The students will look at the different job opportunities in the sports industry and create a job application for one of these roles. Students will need to perform in one individual and one team sport and officiate a sport. They will then identify their strengths and weaknesses in their sports and create drills and activities to improve their weaknesses.
Year 11
In Year 11, students will lead the session that they created in year 10 and then will be assessed by an assessor. They will then review their performance as a leader and this will then complete the Leadership module of their coursework. Students will then learn how to officiate table tennis matches and log their officiating to be assessed. The students will look at the different job opportunities in the sports industry and create a job application for one of these roles. Throughout the year the students will also go back through the exam module to improve their knowledge ready for their final exam in the summer term.
