The results are in for the Faculty Dance Competition
Students from across the school were invited to participate in a Faculty Dance Competition this term where they submitted videos of their choreographed dance routines to win not only a prize for themselves but also to win the competition for their faculty!
We received a number of entries from years 7 - 10 and were blown away by the courage and creativity of the pieces that were submitted. A variety of styles were demonstrated, including; street dance, contemporary dance and Irish dance.
This made it a very tough decision to judge, but we would like to announce that the winner of the Faculty Dance Competition 2021 is…
Natalie in Year 8, Banksy. Congratulations Natalie!
The two runners up for this year's Dance Competition are Jessica (Y7) and Olivia (Y9). Congratulations to all students!
All three of our winners developed expressive and engaging choreography whilst all showing musicality in their solo performances.
Miss King, our Dance teacher at Aureus, was delighted with the entries this year, “I am really excited for the future of dance at Aureus school. Students have shown they are committed, confident and creative during the rehearsal process of the competition. Every entry to the competition is a point for your faculty. Well done everyone!”
The Faculty Dance Competition is new to Aureus for 2021, but we would love to continue this for many years to come.
