Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families

As we approach the end of another (very cold!) week, I am thrilled to share with you what we
have been doing in school. Our students continue to inspire us with their dedication and
enthusiasm, and their participation in leading and driving the whole school culture and ethos.

Yesterday evening was a significant milestone for our Year 9 students as we launched the
options process. The hall was bustling with students, parents and staff, illustrating the strength
of the Aureus community. The evening was filled with discussions about future aspirations,
highlighting the important collaboration between families and the school. I am particularly
grateful to those who shared their positive feedback about our school’s progress - your words
are greatly appreciated and motivate us to strive even further.

In a fantastic display of commitment to their own personal development, 20 of our Year 7 girls
embarked on a sports leadership program this week. This opportunity allows them to explore
roles such as media officer, coach, official and manager. The program, which includes weekly
sessions, aims to develop their leadership skills. We are very proud of their commitment and
look forward to seeing what comes next for them.

I am proud to announce our graduation from the Department of Education Behaviour Hub. This
is a testament to the remarkable improvements in behaviour and attitudes within our school.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our students in upholding high standards and
the supportive role played by our parents. Together, we are witnessing a cultural transformation
that creates a respectful, supportive school community.

This term we are working on maintaining students' attention, to ensure they learn well. As part
of our commitment to ensuring the best learning environment, I would like to remind everyone
that fizzy drinks are not permitted in school. Staying hydrated with water is essential for
maintaining attention and facilitating learning. I thank parents for their support in this matter.

Our Year 11 students have shown exceptional dedication and preparedness as they commenced
their final set of mock exams this week. Their conduct and commitment have been exemplary.
As they continue with another week of exams, we wish them all the best. A special thanks to
other students for respecting the exam areas.

Finally, I wanted to draw your attention to a range of webinars offered by CAMHS, covering vital
topics such as anxiety and self harm among young people. These are free and open to all
parents. For more information please visit CAMHS Webinars.

Thank you for your continued support on our school improvement journey.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
