Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week has truly been a celebration of the Arts! I cannot write this letter without expressing how amazing the Expressive and Creative Arts show was, which took place at the Cornerstone last Friday. Our students and staff worked incredibly hard to put on a fantastic performance, and I was delighted that we were able to welcome Julian Drinkhall, the CEO of GLF Schools. He was so impressed with the show that he has invited our students to perform at our national conference—an incredible achievement! You can read more about it in this news article.
As if that wasn’t enough, our Year 11 Drama students performed their final piece this week, entertaining the audience with their hilarious adaptations of The Three Little Pigs and Beauty and the Beast. It was a joy to see their hard work and commitment shine and to hear the audience in fits of laughter throughout the performances.
Beyond the Arts, our Eco Committee has been busy investigating the power generated by our solar panels, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability. We have also had new EV chargers fitted, further reducing our carbon footprint. Additionally, our students have been actively litter-picking outside the front of the school. Due to the winds, litter often accumulates at the beginning of the week, but our students took it upon themselves to ensure that the surrounding community remains clean and tidy. Their thoughtfulness and commitment to their environment make us incredibly proud.
Looking ahead, Friends of Aureus have been hard at work planning our Summer Fair, which will take place on Saturday, 12th July, from 12–3 pm. We are currently looking for stallholders, sponsors, and prizes for various student-run stalls. If you have anything that you think would be suitable, please contact them at foa@aureusschool.org. Last year’s funds enabled us to purchase equipment to take our own school photos, helping to save families money in the long run. This year, we are raising funds for exciting school improvements—watch this space for more details!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
