Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
It has been another busy and successful week at Aureus School, with students and staff demonstrating commitment, enthusiasm and pride in all they do.
A particular highlight has been the continued preparation for our Dance external examinations. Students and staff have been working incredibly hard on rehearsals and recordings, showing real dedication and professionalism. We are very proud of the effort, resilience and creativity that students have shown throughout this process, and we wish them every success as they complete this important stage of their qualifications.
This week we also welcomed prospective families to our Open Evening. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase everything that makes Aureus such a special place to learn and grow. I was immensely proud of our students, who flourished in their roles as Tour Guides, Department Helpers and Speakers. Their confidence, maturity and enthusiasm shone through as they welcomed visitors and spoke passionately about their experiences at school. It was particularly pleasing to see so many students eager to showcase our school and highlight their favourite subjects and departments. During her speech, one of our Head Prefects reflected on her own journey, sharing how her confidence developed from the moment she first volunteered as a Tour Guide. Her story was a powerful reminder of the opportunities available to students at Aureus and the personal growth that comes from getting involved in school life.
Students have also been enjoying the launch of our House Competitions programme. Participation has been high, with many students taking part in the Plank Challenge and our Halloween Creative Writing Competition. It has been fantastic to see students embracing these opportunities, demonstrating teamwork, determination and creativity while earning valuable points for their House.
We look forward to announcing the winners during House Assemblies in the coming weeks and celebrating the achievements of all those who have taken part.
