Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
It has been another busy and positive week at school, with plenty to celebrate.
Firstly, a huge well done to our Year 11 students, who are continuing to work through their first set of Year 11 mock examinations. I have been incredibly impressed by the determination they have shown and the hard work they are putting in. These examinations are an important opportunity to practise, identify areas for improvement and demonstrate just how much progress they have made.
A reminder to Year 11 that we offer breakfast and a quiet space to study each morning. Please do make use of this provision. It is a great way to start the day well, complete some final preparation and, importantly, make sure you are in school and ready in plenty of time for your examinations.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to Ms King for organising and running our Post-16 Evening this week. It was wonderful to welcome back some of our alumni, who represented their Post-16 providers and spoke to our students about their experiences and next steps.
One of the real highlights for me was having the opportunity to catch up with former students and hear about everything they have gone on to achieve. From Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award training to university offers, it was fantastic to hear about their ambitions and successes. I am incredibly proud of them, and it is particularly special to see them returning to school to inspire the students following in their footsteps.
Finally, this week we were delighted to welcome Ms Clarke to our Dance Department. Ms Clarke will be covering KS4 dance for Ms King during her maternity leave. It was wonderful to see her working with a full class of Key Stage 3 dancers at Dance Club this week. I am so pleased to see Dance continuing to thrive and our students embracing the opportunities available to them as we manage this period of change.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us and plays an important role in helping us to understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve.
