Ethics & Philiosophy Curriculum Map
Year 7
Students will learn about a variety of global Religions and will discuss similarities and differences between them. Students will engage in what they believe and learn how to have empathy with people who have different beliefs. Students will explore what it means to be human and how we follow different rules depending on our faith systems.
Year 8
The study of religion is an important part of the Humanities curriculum. Together with History and Geography it enables students to make connections which lead to a stronger understanding of a number of diverse cultures and beliefs. Students will be able to begin to make sense of local, national and world events and the reasons for peoples’ responses to them.
Year 9
Year 9 students have 3 lessons of Ethics and philosophy per fortnight. Students will identify contrasting views between Christianity & another world religion. At Aureus we focus on the Christian faith & the Buddhist philosophy.
