Business Studies
Britain wealth and influence in the world is founded on its trade and industry and the efficiency of the business community is vital in an increasingly competitive world. It affects our daily lives, be it as a customer, taxpayer, local resident or through employment. We aim to develop student awareness and understanding of the world of business and its interactions with the people who are affected by it.
GCSE Business Studies is designed for students finishing secondary school to learn skills for running a business, such as managing money, advertising and employing staff.
Students on this course will study the whole lifecycle of a business, from where the original ideas for products and services come from to the reasons why businesses fail. They will apply their knowledge and understanding to different business contexts (small enterprises to large multinationals; businesses operating on local, national and global scales), developing an understanding on how decisions can impact a business, from operations to finance, marketing to human resources.
