Scarab Beetles, Mummies and the Oxford Spires!
|
Our Key stage 3 Students enjoyed a day in Oxford seeing iconic sights and experiencing the culture on the magical date of May the 4th!
Students travelled by train to broaden their travelling experiences and independence. Upon arriving in Oxford we walked to Weston Library and experienced a private viewing of the Tutankhamen Exhibition. Students were then treated to a roof top tour and got to take in the ‘dreamy spires of Oxford.’
After food at the international food market students walked to the Museum of Natural History where they received a fascinating lecture on Insects and their role in the Eco system. This lecture linked to the Egyptian theme exhibition earlier by exploring in detail the Scarab Beetle!
The day ended with some free time in the museum where students explored the natural history of our amazing planet.
"I very much enjoyed my out of school experience and the day was excellent." Coco, Year 9
