Headteacher's weekly update
Dear Families,
We have had an incredible start back to school and I would like to commend our students for demonstrating exceptional ambition, resilience and respect. These core values are really coming through in all that our students do.
Whilst the vast majority of our students have returned to school wearing their uniforms with pride, we have noticed an increase in uniform infringements. Please be reminded that shoes should be plain black leather, and skirts should be pleated and below the length of the blazer. We greatly appreciate your support as parents and carers in helping to ensure that our students are wearing their uniform with pride and adhering to the uniform policy, as this is key to maintaining the high standards we set out for our school community.
Over the half-term break, our fantastic Creative Arts Showcase received recognition in the local news. Our students were thrilled to see their hard work in print, and it was a pleasure to receive my very own copy delivered by the students on Monday morning. These stunning shows are designed and produced by our talented Arts department, who also this week brought in a special visitor, Thomas Page, from Swindon Dance Centre for Advanced Training. Thomas ran a contemporary dance workshop with students, as part of our varied personal development time programme.
I am pleased to announce Kidest has been awarded Student of the Term at the Didcot Rotary Club awards. She has shown ambition for her studies throughout her school journey and this was well deserved recognition.
Preparations are underway for our exciting summer fete, which will take place on Saturday 13th July. If you or somebody you know would like to run a stall, prices are just £15 for businesses and £10 for charities. You can email aureusfete@aureusschool.org for more details. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our week concluded by welcoming Didcot Primary Academy for a carousel of activities facilitated by our fantastic Sports Leaders. It was a wonderful event showcasing teamwork and sportsmanship. Well done to everyone involved.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
