Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week has been full of excitement with our very own search and rescue mission taking place in support of the YoungMinds charity. Students were tasked with finding 1000 tiny yellow ducks, which were cleverly hidden across the school. This was all part of our mission to raise awareness of the important work YoungMinds does for young people’s mental health. Congratulations to Malala House, who won this house competition and took home the points! If you haven’t yet donated, you can still support the charity by visiting our JustGiving page - a suggested donation of £1 will help make a difference.
This week we wrapped up our autumn Open Events and I am thrilled to share with you the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. A massive thank you to our student tour guides who showed pride in our school and shared an honest insight to what it is to be an Aureus Ambassador. A special thank you to all the parents who have shared how happy they are with the school and encouraged families to come and see our fantastic learning environment we have worked hard to build.
Yesterday, we hosted our first Meet the Coach Evening. This was a valuable opportunity for families to connect with their child’s coach and discuss their most recent approach to learning report. It was wonderful to see such strong family engagement, as we know that collaboration between families, students and the school is key to our students' success.
On a further positive note, we are proud to share with you that attendance at Aureus has risen significantly over the last academic year, and this trend is continuing into the current year. It is a clear sign of the sense of belonging our students feel here, and we are incredibly proud of the community we have fostered.
Finally, we are keen to keep you and the wider community informed about all the great things happening at Aureus. If you are a social media user, please consider “liking” and sharing our posts to help us strengthen our connections with the extended community, and if you have anything you think we should be sharing on social media please do let us know.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Rogers
