Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families

Our Year 11 students have been working incredibly hard as they prepare for their second set of mock exams. Their dedication and commitment to their studies have been commendable, and we are proud of their efforts. On Thursday, we were delighted to see so many families attend our Year 11 Revise with Me evening. This event provided students and their families with valuable revision strategies to help them approach their upcoming exams with confidence. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this important session.

In addition, I have begun writing references for students as they submit applications for post-16 education. It is always a pleasure to support our young people in taking their next steps, and I look forward to hearing about the fantastic opportunities they secure for their future studies and careers.

This week, we were privileged to welcome Laura Cripps, who delivered a moving and thought-provoking assembly for our older students. She shared the powerful story of her relative, a Holocaust survivor, helping our students reflect on the importance of remembrance, resilience, and standing against injustice. It was an incredibly meaningful experience that left a lasting impact on all who attended.

We also took time to celebrate the Year of the Snake as part of our Lunar New Year festivities. Students created beautiful lanterns, which are now proudly displayed in our community space, helping us recognise and appreciate different cultures and traditions within our school.

Another exciting initiative we are proud to launch is our Literacy Ambassadors' Programme, led by Miss Peruga. Many of our young leaders have begun running their first reading interventions, supporting their peers in developing literacy skills. In the coming weeks, we look forward to extending this programme to local primary schools, further strengthening our links with the wider community.

Thank you for your continued support. As always, we appreciate the role you play in encouraging our students to strive for success, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Rogers
