Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week has been incredibly busy, filled with a mixture of exciting school-based activities and students and Headteacher conferences. I always find it difficult to leave the school site, as I truly enjoy the buzz of school life. However, I attended two separate Headteacher conferences this week, and it was wonderful to come together with other Headteachers to learn from one another and enhance the opportunities we provide for the young people we serve.
Aside from these conferences, I had the privilege of watching the Year 7 football fixture. I may have to become the team mascot, as I arrived when the score was 2-2, and within a few minutes, we had scored two more goals! The team is really coming together, and it is fantastic to see their progress.
This week has also been full of open events for our rising Year 7 families. We are proud to say that we are full for the next academic year, and it has been wonderful meeting these families and beginning to get to know our new students. A huge well done to our Year 7 choir, who, alongside some of our Year 11 prefects, performed two beautiful songs at our post-offers evening. They were simply outstanding.
As if that wasn’t enough, we also had an incredible trip to see Matilda the Musical in the West End last night. One of our very own students was performing, making the experience extra special for everyone. A huge thank you to the GLF Foundation, whose generosity in subsidising this trip helped make it accessible to all.
It has been a truly fantastic week, and I look forward to another one ahead!
Kind regards,
Kirsty Rogers
