Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
I am incredibly proud of all the opportunities our staff have provided for students this term, and it has been wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation.
On Monday, Year 10 and Year 11 had the privilege of watching a performance by the Globe Players, who brought their GCSE texts to life with gripping performances of Macbeth and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Tuesday saw Year 9 embark on their Heroes Journey with Humautopia. This is an inspiring programme that begins with self-confidence and personal growth, before transitioning into one of our leadership initiatives. Through this, students have the opportunity to become mentors for our younger years, guiding them in confidence-building and self-awareness, supporting our anti-bullying work.
We have also been strengthening our community connections, expanding our primary school engagement. It has been a pleasure to welcome primary school pupils who have enjoyed PE in the sunshine and taken part in cooking lessons using our excellent facilities. In addition, our masterclasses continue to be a real highlight for Year 5 students. The MFL masterclass which took place this week was exceptionally well-received.
This time of year is always a busy one for Year 11, and Thursday evening marked their final Revise with Me session, equipping them with valuable tips and strategies for the final weeks ahead. I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication they are displaying.
Finally, our students have been working extremely hard in preparation for their performances at the Arts Creative and Expressive Showcase, taking place at the Cornerstone Arts Centre tonight. I cannot wait to see them shine on stage!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
