Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Easter break. It has been a fantastic start to the new term, filled with energy, enthusiasm and some brilliant opportunities for our students.
We began the week with a visit from Humanutopia, who worked with our Year 9 Heroes to support and mentor our Year 7 students. The focus was on self-belief and confidence, and it was inspiring to see such meaningful interactions - full of engagement, laughter and moments of deep reflection.
A small group of students embarked on their first sailing lessons this week, and what an experience it was! They showed great resilience, embraced the challenges of learning a new skill and shared plenty of laughter when things didn't quite go to plan.
Our Year 10 Catering students had an exciting opportunity to attend a nutrition workshop at Oxford Brookes University. They not only learned about healthy eating but also put their skills to the test by creating some tasty treats.
Meanwhile, our Year 8 and 9 basketball teams competed in a fixture against St Birinus. While we didnt take home the win, the sportsmanship, team spirit and enthusiasm displayed by all involved continues to make us proud.
As we end our week, Year 9 set off on their Duke of Edinburgh Award practice expedition. I am really looking forward to visiting them this evening and hearing about their first day adventures.
Looking ahead, on Wednesday 14th May we will be hosting a quiz night for families to raise funds for Friends of Aureus. More information to follow. We look forward to seeing you there.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
