Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
Our Eco Committee have been working tirelessly as part of their Cut Your Carbon initiative, which is already making a positive impact. They are promoting Meat-Free Mondays in the dining hall, encouraging us all to make more sustainable food choices. They’ve also been ensuring that all lights are turned off at the end of each day and are developing exciting projects to reduce water usage throughout the school. I am so proud of their dedication to making our school a greener place.
The Music House Competition on Thursday was a huge success, with so many students putting their names forward to perform, that we are thrilled to announce an additional performance next Thursday! The acts so far have been truly impressive, and it’s wonderful to see the students’ hard work and passion shine on stage. The audience in the assembly hall at lunchtime was thoroughly entertained - thank you to everyone who came to support our performers.
Year 11 Drama students also deserve a special mention this week. Their mock exam day was truly fantastic. They have put an incredible amount of work into their Component 2 pieces, and we eagerly await their performance to their families next week.
Finally, today’s Hot Chocolate Friday was a highlight of my week. Spending time with students, hearing about the clubs and activities they enjoy, from Warhammer Club to Dance and Netball. It is wonderful to see our students getting involved in school life.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Rogers
