Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
As we enter the final weeks of the autumn term, it is lovely to see the school embracing the festive season. Christmas decorations are steadily transforming the school, and I must say, the Science Department is leading the way with creativity. I’m looking forward to seeing how other departments rise to the challenge.
We are pleased to have introduced more morning clubs this term, providing a warm and welcoming space for students to escape the cold and rain. These clubs give students the opportunity to spend time with their friends before the school day, and participate in activities they enjoy. It has been wonderful to see so many students joining us for these activities, creating a supportive environment for each other and fostering new friendships.
A huge congratulations goes to our debating team, who represented the school brilliantly in a local debating competition this week. The topic tackled, “Should convicted prisoners be released early to free up places in UK prisons?” was incredibly ambitious, but our students approached it with confidence, critical thinking and maturity that reflect our core values of ambition, resilience and respect. We are very proud of their efforts and achievements.
We were also delighted to welcome so many families to Year 11 Progress Evening. It was a great reminder of how much can be achieved when students, families and school staff work closely together. Thank you to everyone who attended and for your continued support in helping our young people achieve their best.
Finally, we’ve had a particularly exciting week in the spotlight as our recent fantastic Ofsted result has made the headlines. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase all that makes our school such a special place - the dedication of staff, the hard work of students, and the strength of our school community. Please visit our social media pages or the news section of our website to see more.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Rogers
