Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

This week has been all about High School Musical, and what an incredible week it has been! Our hardworking, dedicated students delivered two fantastic shows for our local primary schools, followed by an outstanding performance for the general public, with the final performance taking place this evening.

A huge thank you goes out to all the staff who dedicated countless hours to supporting our students. From the performers, stage crew, and tech team to hair and makeup artists, and even our star bakers who made delicious cakes to sell at the event—running a school show is a true community effort. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.

A special shout-out goes to our Friends of Aureus committee for setting up snacks and drinks, and to our alumni who returned to help by taking photos of the event. It was a joy to welcome them back into the fold.

Meanwhile, our Eco Committee has been hard at work on a project to reduce water consumption. Be sure to check out their videos on our social media channels (https://www.facebook.com/aureus.secondary/videos/938192441225346) for some fantastic tips—you might save money and help the planet!

This week, we also had the pleasure of hosting Sidney, our beloved local therapy dog, for his final visit of the year. Sporting his festive Christmas collar, Sidney brought smiles to students and staff alike.

Finally, congratulations to our Year 10 students, who eagerly joined the Aureus Peer Mentoring Programme. They are now fully qualified Wellbeing Champions, ready to make a positive impact across our school community.

Thank you all for your continued support, and I look forward to sharing more Aureus community spirit with you next week.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Rogers
