Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school this week. Despite the cold, the students have returned with great energy and enthusiasm, ready to embrace new learning opportunities.

A gentle reminder to all students to please use the designated pathways when moving around the school site, particularly near the car park. The icy conditions make some areas slippery, and we want to ensure everyone stays safe during these frosty mornings.

We’ve been delighted to see so many students making the most of our morning clubs and facilities. The basketball club and breakfast club have been popular spots to stay active and warm, while the library continues to be a fantastic quiet space for reading or completing revision. These activities are a great way to start the day positively and productively.

This week, I have had the privilege of visiting many lessons and seeing firsthand the wonderful learning taking place. It has been a joy to watch students immerse themselves in their studies. From mapping out characters in film studies to extending algebraic knowledge in maths, or even taking on the role of a prisoner in a dance routine, the creativity and enthusiasm displayed have been truly wonderful.

We are excited to welcome Year 9 families to our Options Event next week as they embark on the important process of choosing their GCSE options. This is a significant milestone in each student’s educational journey, and we look forward to supporting them as they make these important decisions.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Kirsty Rogers
