Headteacher's Weekly Update
13th September 2024
Dear Families
We’ve had another incredible week at Aureus, full of positive energy. Our Year 7 students are now fully settled into life here, and I had the privilege of meeting with some of the students who have accumulated the most positive points this week. Each of these students has demonstrated our core school values of Ambition. Resilience and Respect, and I was thrilled to receive such glowing feedback from staff about their transition period. The students themselves shared wonderful stories with me about the new friendships they have formed, their favourite lessons, and when I asked what their favourite thing about Aureus was, they said the staff. It was heartwarming to hear how much they appreciate the adults who support their learning and growth.
This week also saw the first prefects’ meeting. Students discussed the priorities for the students leadership team this year and I look forward to meeting with the Head Prefects next week to finalise their objectives and map out how they will achieve them. All I can say for now is they have some great ideas for further improving the student experience.
As we start the new school year we have welcomed several visitors from our trust to review the progress we have made since the start of last academic year. I am incredibly proud to report back that the feedback once again has been overwhelmingly positive. The hard work and dedication of the staff and students has built a strong foundation, and it is exciting to see our continued progress being recognised.
In the coming weeks, I look forward to seeing many of you at our Information Evenings, where I will share more about our journey and upcoming priorities, as well as give you relevant information for the Key Stage your child is in. Additionally, we have a number of Open Events planned for Year 5 and 6 families. If you have any friends or family who are starting to look at secondary schools, please do encourage them to visit one of our events. We look forward to meeting the future families of Aureus.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Rogers
