Move It!

Move it!

Last Friday, 44 Aureus dance students boarded a coach to the ExCel in London with 4 of their teachers, to experience Move It for the first time.

From the minute you arrive, the atmosphere is tangible and our students were definitely feeling excited!
Olivia, one of our Yr11 dancers, said she had butterflies in her tummy and she is no stranger to dance shows and competitions herself. Move It,  however, is something entirely different. It's hard to know where to look first; there's all the colourful stalls selling anything and everything related to the world of dancing, colleges offering prospectuses  and then on the main stage, national dance schools are performing at an incredible standard.

After we had stopped to have some lunch, we all piled into another of the halls where dance schools were showcasing musical theatre numbers, including the likes of Sweeney Todd & Matilda.

Throughout the day, some of our GCSE dancers took part in different dance workshops. They did extremely well performing alongside dancers who were older and more experienced than them. They made Miss King extremely proud!

We arrived back at school just after 7pm. Everyone was worn out, but it really was a great day; the students behaved well and showed great maturity. Well done and thank you to Miss King for organising an amazing day out!
