Raising money for Sport Relief
Students took part in a number of sporting activities throughout this week to help raise money for Sport Relief.
Thirty students from Year 7 and 8 took part in an indoor football tournament over Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Thursday we had around twenty students come and take on their teachers in staff versus students badminton. Thursday evening also saw the Year 8 boys having their first ever football fixture against Wallingford, losing a closely played game 5-2, with Harry and Oscar scoring the goals for Aureus. Well done to both teams, it was a great match.
Finally on Friday we ran the Sport Relief mile, there were nearly 100 students taking part helping us raise £85.21 as a school. A very special mention to Isabella and Hannah who managed to raise £50 in sponsorship for their Sport Relief mile.
Sport Relief is a biennial charity event from Comic Relief, in association with BBC Sport, which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries.
