There's no Place like Aureus

During our summer term, 200 brave and talented Aureus students took to the stage and auditioned in front of their peers for their favourite Wizard of Oz characters.  After much consideration, 53 students were selected to be part of the final cast.

"I enjoyed doing the Wizard of Oz, because it's fun to watch our little group, who took part, grow and grow and come up with creative ideas. You also speak to people that you wouldn't normally speak to." Ellie, Yr9

Since September these 53 students have worked exceptionally hard each week. They have given up much of their free time; turning up to rehearsals after school, lunchtime and weekends.

Miss King, Mrs McAuliffe and Mrs Burbage have been so impressed by the dedication and resilience shown throughout this term, from all students and staff, in the creative and expressive arts faculty.

"I enjoyed working together as a team and building memories" Molly, Yr7

Last night was the first of the two public performances, the second being tonight (Friday 9th). The cast were nothing short of brilliant; their commitment to the show and the hard work put in during rehearsals has really paid off and was very much evident last night.

"I have enjoyed taking part in the Wizard of Oz; I feel its a wonderful thing to take part in during my final year at Aureus." Patrick, Yr11

The Arts faculty have worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring this show to life and it has all been worth it. Students are already excited to know what the show is next year already!

"I have enjoyed taking part in the Wizard of Oz, because it's an experience that not everyone can have and it's something i've never done before." Roseanna, Yr9

Well done to everyone involved, you really have done Aureus proud!
