Year 8 students have been developing a timeline of the Holocaust today in Humanties. Year 7's, currently studying "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" in English Literature, joined them to admire their work

REinvent Food...our students have been making bread and butter pudding in this workshop today, inspiring them to reduce food waste


We have been lucky to have Nick Garnett in with Year 7's today building a kinetic coral reef through play


Our 3rd day of the year, we have been looking at 'REinvent, REuse, REcycle'. Year 7's have been getting creative with REcycled wind chimes, Reco cultivation and REused sculpture

Day & Week

At Aureus, our vision is to grow a community culture so we start and end each day together, we sit down and eat together, we use coaching to talk to and to listen to each other.

Our normal day runs from 8.30-4.30pm Monday-Thursday. We have an extended day so that on Fridays we can finish early at 1.00pm and maintain the school community's wellbeing.

Our school day consists of:

8.25am Students to arrive by 8.25am - Gates Close
8.30-9.00am Community Wellbeing and Mindfulness Programme
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are Faculty Assemblies
9.00-10.15am Lesson 1
10.15-10.35am Community Break
10.35-11.50am Lesson 2
11.50-11.55am Lesson transition
11.55-1.10pm Lesson 3
1.10-1.50pm Community Lunch Break
1.10-1.30pm Year 8s/ 1.30-1.50pm year 7s
1.50-3.05pm Lesson 4
3.05-3.40pm Community Coaching
3.40-4.30pm Community Personal Development Time
4.30pm Students depart Aureus site

Our Personal Development Time runs Monday-Thursday, Thursday is led by an external partner to release staff for meetings.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Personal Development Time will run from 3.40-4.30pm.

Both our staff and students finish early on a Friday, so there is no personal development time. Students go to their community lunch from 11.50-12.30pm and then Coaching/ Careers Assembly session from 12.30-1.00pm. Students will be dismissed from the site at 1.00pm.
