GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Class of 2022 reaches Year 11

This week we celebrated our current Year 10 students becoming our first ever Year 11’s. This means that from September we will have our whole school cohort at Aureus!

The day started with a special assembly, where students reflected on their time so far at Aureus and looked forward to the year ahead. Students that attended our Period 6 lessons were entered into a prize draw to win a laptop, kindly donated by Asda. We were pleased to announce the winners:

Lily won a brand new Dell laptop, headphones, WiFi dongle and laptop bag.
Hannah won a £20 Amazon voucher for her perfect attendance too.

Congratulations to Lily and Hannah and well done for all the students who attended these sessions.

Finally, to celebrate the start of Year 11, students were treated to an ice-cream from our local ice-cream man, John Whippy. 

Mr Ali, Assistant Headteacher said, “Year 10s have worked extremely hard returning back to school from remote learning, we look forward to them continuing this effort and work ethic into Year 11.”
